2009 will be Joe’s fourth season as the head coach at Northern. During those three seasons, Northern has reached the 3A Regional finals twice and compiled a 24-5 record against SMAC opponents.
Prior to coming back to his alma mater, Joe spent eight seasons at Thomas Jefferson HSST in Virginia, recently voted the top public high school in the United States. Joe converted the weak program into a consistent winner, leading the team to its only Virginia final four appearance in school history.
A product of the Calvert Lacrosse Club, Joe played his college lacrosse at St. Mary’s College of Maryland on the same team that produced a number of other coaches (Jim Rogalski - Rutgers, Mike Fraioli - formerly at Brown, and Steve Spence of Old Mill HS).
In his spare time, Joe runs Performance Strategies, a strategic marketing company, and lives with his wife Julie live in Chesapeake Beach.
